Known as "Wild Bill" or "Hickey" by his teammates; William Hickok was a crushing blocker and punishing tackler; garnering All American honors following his junior and senior seasons of 1893 and 1894. Hickok was inducted into the College Hall of Fame in 1971. Hickok also threw the shot put and hammer for the Yale track team, setting collegiate records in both events. After graduating Hickok coached football at a fledgling Indian school called Carlisle that would later be immortalized by Pop Warner and Jim Thorpe. Hickok managed the family machining business in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania until his death in 1933. This example of the N302 Hickok has been graded PSA 6; which is the only example at this level with none graded higher.
