Madison Gillham Gonterman, often referred to as "M. G." was a halfback for the Crimson from 1892 to 1895. Most accounts refer to him as a dependable substitute during his first three years. His name appears on a few 2nd team All American lists for his senior (1895) season. Gonterman was a also a sprinter for the Harvard track team. After graduating he coached football at Indiana University for two seasons (1896-1897) leading them to a 12-3-1 record. Gonterman passed the New York State Bar in 1900 and practiced commercial law for the remainder of his life. The offered PSA 7 example of Gonterman's N302 is the highest graded and the only one at this level.
