Edwin Gordon Crowdis, also known as "Slim" played interior line (mostly guard) for the Tigers. He was active for a few games in 1893 "against minor opponents". He substituted for Dudley Riggs at center during the 1894 season. In 1895 Crowdis was again mainly used as a substitute. According to contemporary accounts his time on the gridiron was limited because "the books required attention". Crowdis majored in theological studies and entered the Hartford Seminary in 1899; completing his studies in 1902. He served as a clergyman in Connecticut and also was an instructor for the YMCA during World War I. The offered example of Crowdis has been graded PSA 5; there is one other example at this level and one example graded higher.
