Charley Brewer, even for his time, was not a large man standing 5' 9" and weighing 150 pounds; but he earned All-American honors in 1892, 1893 and 1895 and was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 1971. Brewer started at fullback all four years (1892-1895) for the Crimson, missing out on All American honors only in 1894 while he suffered with a nagging ankle injury. He was know for his long, twisting and spectacular runs. Brewer was one of the true stars of the early game. Following his football career; Brewer worked as an exporter, shipper, treasurer, and real estate agent. The offered N302 Brewer is the sole example at the PSA 7 level with none graded higher.
